The Wood Grain collection currently includes Maple, Oak, Walnut, and Cherry. Each has its own distinct tone and grain character, making it easy to match your project's aesthetic.
It comes down to the look you're going for. Maple is light and clean, great for bright, modern designs. Oak has a classic mid-tone with visible grain that works beautifully for rustic or natural aesthetics. Walnut is rich and dark, ideal for premium or high-contrast engraving. Cherry sits in between - warm, reddish-brown, and versatile for both decorative and functional pieces. Not sure? The TruFlat® Wood Pack lets you try all four at once.
Yes - TruFlat® Walnut will show less contrast on an engraving compared to lighter options like Maple, where the burn contrast is more pronounced. If high-visibility engraving is important for your project, lighter grains tend to deliver a more striking result.
UV printing on wood grain creates a striking layered effect - ink sits on top of the textured visual grain, which can add depth and character to logos, photos, and full-color designs. Lighter grains like Maple provide the most color-accurate base; darker grains like Walnut work best for designs that lean into contrast.
Real hardwood plywood can vary significantly in grain density, moisture content, and flatness - all of which affect engraving consistency and cut quality. TruFlat® Wood Grain sheets are engineered to eliminate those variables: void-free core, guaranteed flat, uniform thickness, and a pre-finished surface that cuts cleanly every time.
