Paint Grade Plywood Panels with Smooth, Ready-to-Finish Surfaces

Paint grade plywood panels are designed for projects that require a flawless painted surface. With a smooth, uniform face and stable core construction, these panels reduce prep time while ensuring reliable performance on laser cutters, CNCs & UV Printing equipment.

Unlike rough construction plywood, paint-grade panels minimize surface imperfections, making them ideal for painted signage, product displays, custom décor, and branded installations. Their flat profile ensures even paint application and consistent machining depth.

These panels perform well for both cutting and engraving applications. Clean edges allow for easy priming, while the stable surface ensures paint adhesion without uneven absorption. For UV Printing, the consistent texture enhances print clarity and color vibrancy.

If your production workflow includes machining first and painting second, these paint grade plywood panels streamline the process by combining fabrication precision with finishing efficiency.

Frequently Asked Questions

TruFlat® Paint uses an ultra-high quality pure white primer, giving you a head start on any paint project. No more doing multiple coats on raw MDF to build up colour, or applying a base coat and waiting for it to dry. It's designed specifically for makers who want to cut, paint, and go.

Sheets are available in approximately 3mm (1/8") thickness in four sizes: 12" × 12", 12" × 19", 12" × 24", and 18" × 24". Larger sizes are available upon request.

Both sides have an ultra-high quality primer applied.

No more prep or priming - with TruFlat® Paint, the ultra-high quality pure white primer base is of such high quality that you can cut out your parts and go straight to painting with spray paint, brush, or rollers.

Because the primer is applied using the highest quality base and application technology, you won't need multiple coats - one final coat of your chosen colour is typically all you need to achieve deep, vibrant results.

The surface is compatible with spray paint, brush, and roller application - giving you flexibility depending on your project size and preferred method.

Yes. Like all TruFlat® sheets, it's designed for use with laser cutters. The HDF core cuts cleanly and consistently, and the primed surface can be engraved to reveal contrast between the primer and the cut depth below.

Recommended cut settings are available on our Cut Settings page. Settings will vary depending on your machine's wattage and type, so always run a test piece first.

Yes - like all TruFlat® sheets, they are compatible with both CO₂ and diode laser cutters.

With raw MDF, achieving deep, vibrant colours typically requires 3 or more coats of paint plus a base primer coat and drying time between each. TruFlat® Paint eliminates all of that - cut your parts and apply your final colour immediately. For production runs, that's a significant time and material saving.

It's ideal for any project where the final finish will be painted - custom signs, home décor, props, children's items, painted gifts, and production pieces where speed and colour vibrancy matter. It's especially useful for workshops that do high-volume painted projects and want to eliminate the priming step entirely.
