TruFlat® Black Plywood

I like this product better than the traditional TruFlat. I have worked with CO2 and Diode lasers and I must say I like the Diode better. With the right power / speed combo the surface varnish behaves like caramel, giving the right base color to the engraving. The thickness is sligthly larger than the original but if you offset the laser by 1.5mm it cuts like regular material with the same power settings. Super Flat, Great Finishing, same great Service.

Truflat ready paint doesn't clean up the best. But your painting it anyway. Excepts paint exceptional well

Truflat will definitely be my go to plywood for special projects. Little water clean up rub easy and it looks perfect after a cut.

Yes the name is a misnomer as it’s not really restrained plywood.
BUT… in my opinion this stuff is better. No scorch marks that need to be sanded. If anything needed a baby wipe takes it right off. Cuts with clean edges and all the way through every-time since there is no warping. I loves this stuff for saving time when cutting some ornaments for engraving, layered 3 d items, etc!

Results are awesome and not having to paint and stain everything is a big time saver - cuts a little slower than the materials I have been using, but the time saved in finishing is way more than lost in cutting.

Well, I'm always a bit hesitant when a vendor says these are truly flat. I received my order placed it in my laser and it is perfectly flat! I'm making some Christmas ornaments using the maple as the background, walnut as the front overlay, and white with for the front wording which attaches to the walnut. I made these same ornaments last year, left the background plain, stained the next layer and painted the words white. It was a bit tedious, but it got the job done and they sold well.
Using TrueFlat I didn't have to paint and the outcome is as professional as can be! I used CA glue during assembly and the ornaments look 10 times better than regular plywood.
Cleanup was also a breeze! I wiped them off with a damp and dry cloth and they cleaned up very well. The wording on the maple is crisp and clear with no smoke or burn marks. Overall, TrueFlat is definitely worth it!

Had a difficult time cutting with my Xtool diode laser. Had to go back over it 2-3 times to get it to cut through.

Engraves and cuts fantastic. Nice dark color and it really stands out

Wasn't sure what to expect with this plywood. It has a different look than normal wood grain products. Haven't had a chance to use this yet but I think it will make some great looking ornaments.

the phenolic face material is consistent and has a great finish.

It was fast shipping but some of the corners of the wood where dented and messed up not sure how it happend.
